Crocheted Toy vs. Rubber Monster Thingy
This is just so wonderfully random and awesome that I had to share.
This is why you have to weave in your ends, people!

Guess what? A Mano is one of the locations in Knitty Gritty Knitsters on the DIY Network! It was shot last year and began airing earlier this month. Have you seen it yet? If not, the next scheduled airing is July 31st at 12:30 pm eastern/9:30am pacific.
Unfortunately, according to Vickie, it appears to be the last new Knitty Gritty. Ever. Long live KG! May it live in reruns forever - or perhaps one day there will be DVD collection of all the shows, which would rock (hint, hint). Or better yet, maybe DIY and HGTV will recognize once again that there's more to the world than home makeover and remodeling shows and give us knitters, crocheters and crafters more airtime. Props to Vickie Howell for waving her crafty flag high, making the craft we love more visible, and especially for making us a part of the show. If you want to see some behind the scenes photos of the day Knitty Gritty took over A Mano, here's a link. Enjoy!
This is Charlie.
He's 50% Chinese Crested and 50% Italian Greyhound and 100% cute. Charlie is Annette's new puppy and he's 12 weeks old. Though he's highly scheduled with puppy playdates and afternoon naps, he spends a lot of time at the shop. Stop by and say hi to Charlie (yes, as in Charlie the Unicorn). And while you're at it, check out what's new in the shop.
I know it took a few days to post these photos, but better late than never, right?
We had a blast at this year's Stitch 'N Pitch. Thanks everyone for coming and making this a night to remember! Wanna see more photos? Click here.

Now that we've had a chance to recuperate from our crazy week at TNNA, we wanted to give you a little preview of some of the awesome new yarns we ordered for the spring that will be arriving over the next few weeks.
I know, I know, teasers are... well, a tease. But you know you want to know what's coming, don't you? We knew that you would.
First up... We met the fine folks from Shibui and ordered some of their awesome (not just) Sock Yarn.
Doesn't it look awesome? The colors are vibrant, it's super soft, and knits like a dream. We love it and know you will too.
Then we took a walk over to Claudia's Handpaints. No only is Claudia great to work with,
but she's created some of the most amazing multi-colored sock yarn we've seen lately. This yarn could actually cure my second sock syndrome.
Lots of you asked us about Dream In Color's Classy. So we took a look at it and... wow. You were right.
Classy is a beautiful veil dyed, worsted weight superwash wool spun from Australian Merino (i.e. crazy soft). Veil dyeing is a process that creates a rich layered color that doesn't pool like some hand-dyed yarns do.
Kollage has a new yarn called Creamy that's 80% milk and 20% cotton.
We also picked up Lanaknits Cashmere Canapa (a cashmere, cotton and hemp blend) and AllHemp6 and some pretty cool roving from Pagewood Farms.
Next time, we'll preview some of the accessories and books that are on the way... Good stuff...
